General Description of the Course

The purpose of CMPT 865 is to provide an in-depth understanding of selected topics in parallel and distributed systems. This offering will focus on Time-Sensitive Networking. The course will be in seminar format. Papers will be discussed on three topics: Multimedia Protocols, Sensor Networks, and Network Games.

There will be 2 projects, regular paper presentations, and paper summaries.

Materials

There is no textbook for this course. Readings will be from current journal and conference publications.

Facilities

Students will be using the Linux machines in the Spinks laboratory to do most of their work, and are expected to be familiar with the use of these facilities.
