The video game industry is rapidly expanding, and it shows no signs of slowing down. In its short history, the industry has evolved from producing titles such as Pong, to titles such as Crysis 2. The technological advancements are staggering, and are made possible by software developers. Brennan's talk will discuss his journey into the gaming industry, and highlight the decisions that allowed him to live out his dream of becoming a video game developer. |

About Brennan Rusnell |

Brennan Rusnell was born and raised in Saskatoon, SK. After graduating from the University of Saskatchewan in 2009, Brennan moved to Vancouver, BC, to pursue a career as a video game developer. Since then, he has worked on Captain America: Super Soldier and Prototype 2. In his spare time, Brennan loves to stay active by hiking and playing basketball. However, he is very passionate about the industry he works in, and still manages to find time to play the latest video games on his Xbox 360. Brennan attended Aden Bowman Collegiate, and holds both a High Honours B.Sc. and a M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Saskatchewan. |

Shane Giroux has worked at zu since 2002. He began as a programmer and moved on to become a Project Manager and Systems Analyst before arriving at his current position as a Technology Director. Shane has facilitated hundreds of projects with zu's clients from across North America. He currently spends his time trying to look busy while ensuring the company is run as efficiently as possible. Shane graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 2002 from the University of Saskatchewan. His favourite pastime is watching and blogging about the Colorado Avalanche.

Blair Kelsie, born in Halifax, gave up a career as a chef and restaurant manager to study Software Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. Before joining VendAsta Technologies Inc. he worked as a web designer, programmer, team and project manager at various high-tech companies in Saskatoon. Blair has his own software consulting business and is a mobile wizard who has developed apps for PDAs, Blackberrys, and iPhones. His work at VendAsta has immersed him in development of numerous applications that leverage today's social media platforms.

Ralph Deters is an outstanding professor in Computer Science at the University of Saskatchewan. He has been awarded the "professor of the year" award by the Computer Science students many times. He always works with the cutting edge technology. In fact Ralph was one of the first researchers to work with mobile technology when cell phones didn't even exist!

Brent Clark is a senior software developer, a project manager and the manager of the software group at SED. He has been at SED since obtaining his M. Math in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo in 1986 (after getting a B. Sc. from the U of S in 1984). At SED, his has worked on a wide variety of software projects from embedded software that flew on a satellite to equipment control systems installed in satellite earth stations around the world.
