I am a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.

My general research interests are in computer networks and computer systems performance evaluation. More specific interests include network traffic measurement, workload characterization and modeling, network simulation, mobile networking, high speed networking, Internet, ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode), TCP/IP, and Web server performance.

I am one of three faculty members in the DISCUS research group, which focusses on the performance evaluation of computer networks and parallel and distributed systems. I am also an Adjunct Scientist at TRLabs , a collaborative university-industry-government telecommunications research consortium in western Canada.

I am a member of ACM , IEEE , and SCS . I am currently the Secretary-Treasurer of ACM SIGMETRICS , and the chair of the IEEE Computer Society Chapter of the IEEE North Saskatchewan Section. Recently, I was the Program Chair for the 1999 ACM SIGMETRICS Conference.
