Winfried K. Grassmann

Winfried Grassmann received his PhD. in Economics from the University of Zurich
in 1967, and he joined the Department in 1969. He retired in 2006 as is now Professor Emeritus.
He is interested in stochastic models, simulation, and
performance evaluation.
He has published numerous papers on numerical
queueing theory and the initial bias problem in simulation.
He was on the editorial board of Operations Research, Naval Reserch Logistics and INFOR. He also acted as area editor of
The INFORMS Journal on Computing.
Together with Prof. J. P. Tremblay,
he has written Logic and Discrete Mathematics, Prentice Hall 1996,
and he has contributed and edited Compuational
Probability, Kluwer Academic Publishers, 2000. More recently, he has writtten, together with J. Tavakoli, Numerical Method for Solving Discrete Event Systems, Springer Nature 2022.
