Throughout my life I have always lived within walking (or biking) distance from the school
that I am attending. Both
Mariehemsskolan
(grade 1 through 6) and
Bräntbergsskolan
(grade 7 through 9) are located less than five minute walk away from my parents' house.
Östra gymnasieskolan
(grade 10 through 12) and
Umeå University
require roughly a five minute bike ride.

After high school I enrolled in the M.Sc. program in Engineering Physics at Umea University.
By taking roughly twice the course load during my second and third year I was able to complete
all the course requirements and written thesis within less than three years.
Over these three
years I completed a total of 194pts (or 291 ECTS credits), while maintaining an academic average
of 4.9 (out of 5.0).

In 1999/2000 I came to University of Saskatchewan (U of S) as a part of an exchange program between
U of S
and
Umeå University.
After taking a few computer science classes I decided to come back for further studies.
Prior to this exchange I had
studied at Umeå University for three years. During those three years I completed many extra courses
in order to fulfill the requirements of my degree, M.Sc. in Engineering Physics, a degree that
I completed the summer of 2000 by defending my written thesis.

During the later parts of my education I drifted towards
Computer Science and Mathematics.
However, I still enjoy the diversity and challenges that are
involved with Physics and other
areas of Engineering.
The main focus of my Swedish education was problem solving.
Focusing on analytical modeling and performance evaluation, these are
some of the skills that have proven valuable in my research and that
I am continuing to improve.
