Knowledge is a crucial resource for organizations. It allows companies to fulfil their mission and to become more competitive. Software companies generate huge amount of knowledge that should be stored and processed, so that the companies would obtain more benefit from it. However, the question of how can knowledge management be applied to software development and maintenance has received little attention from the software engineering research community so far. This talk will present the architecture of a multiagent system in charge of storing and managing information, expertise and "lessons learned" which are generated during the software maintenance process. The system facilitates the reuse of good solutions and the sharing of lessons aiming to decrease costs in time and effort.
Aurora Vizcaino is a full time associate professor in the Computer Science Department of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. She has a European PhD in Computer Science. Her PhD work was based on the use of a Simulated Student Agent in collaborative environments. Her research interests include Collaborative Learning, Agents, Simulated Student and Knowledge Management.
