Configure Vacation Away
These instructions will help you set up the 'vacation' program to send an
automated response to anyone that mails you while you're away.
- Log into skorpio and run:
vacation -I
- Make sure that you have a .vacation.msg in your home directory.
- Have the following entry in your /forward/[group]/[username]/.forward
file:
\[username], "/usr/bin/vacation [username]"
- To turn off the vacation program, change your /forward/[group]/[username]/.forward to read:
\[username]@cs.usask.ca
or whereever it is you receive email (@mail.usask.ca for example).
In these notes, [username] is the username that you use to log into skorpio (i.e. abc123 or smith), and [group] is your user group (i.e. staff or faculty). |
