Configure Vacation Away

These instructions will help you set up the 'vacation' program to send an automated response to anyone that mails you while you're away.

1. Log into skorpio and run:

   vacation -I

2. Make sure that you have a .vacation.msg in your home directory.
3. Have the following entry in your /forward/[group]/[username]/.forward file:

   \[username], "/usr/bin/vacation [username]"

4. To turn off the vacation program, change your /forward/[group]/[username]/.forward to read:

   \[username]@cs.usask.ca

   or whereever it is you receive email (@mail.usask.ca for example).

In these notes, [username] is the username that you use to log into skorpio (i.e. abc123 or smith), and [group] is your user group (i.e. staff or faculty).
