NetBSD Information
Are you looking for a free "UNIX-like" OS for your computer? Check
out NetBSD. NetBSD is based on
the 4.4BSD Lite sources from the University of California,
Berkeley. NetBSD currently runs on many platforms.
Architectures I've installed NetBSD on (to date):
- Amiga
- Alpha
- i386
- hp300
- mac68k
- sun3
- sparc
- pmax
- vax
- arc
- next68k
- sparc64
- amd64
- macppc
Alternate operating systems to consider:
- FreeBSD - an
i386-specific (well... they have an alpha port, but that's a different
story) version of the 4.4Lite sources.
- OpenBSD - a "splitoff"
from NetBSD.
- Linux - that "other" Unix-like operating system.
If you'd like more information on NetBSD just ask me about it some time.
