A new version of the biblio is ready for pickup via anonymous ftp, from . Thanks are due to Sergei Bespamyatnikh, Otfried Cheong, Olivier Devillers, Christian Icking, Joe O'Rourke, Michel Pocchiola, Michiel Smid, and Rephael Wenger for their contributions this round. About 127 entries were new or changed this time, for a new total of 13919 entries, and a Postscript formatting of about 362 pages. Some changes and caveats. The geom.bib file is no longer available by itself but only as part of the full .tar file prepared for contributors. Anyone needing the Postscript formatting should please let me know, otherwise this too may be dropped. (I imagine that anyone really wanting printed output can reasonably deal with a .dvi file instead, but please speak up if you still want either.) Another persistent "violation" concerns entries which use a citetag title abbreviation of more than five letters even when it isn't necessary. I've now relaxed the guidelines to say "preferably no more than five letters", but would appreciate hearing from anyone who has a strong opinion one way or another. It's nice when citetags are predictable according to fixed rules, but in the end there will be exceptions for many reasons. The 2.10 version of biblook distributed here uses a few ifdef constructs in its Makefile, requiring an augmented make program such as GNU make. Alternatively, you can hand process them by using # comments to leave only the desired portions. Also, if your local bibtex program is choking on the .bib file, you should be aware that there exists a runtime-configurable bibtex; one description of it is at . Updates for the next round should please be sent by Monday 11 November 2002.
