Research Fest 2016

A big thank you to all the students, judges, faculty, and staff who attended the Computer Science Research Fest 2016. The quality of work presented by graduate and undergraduate students was very impressive. 

The results of the Best Poster Awards are as follows:

1st Place Winner
Researchers: Ansgar Depping, Colby Johanson, Regan Mandryk
Title: “Trust Me: Social Games are Better than Social Icebreakers at Building Trust.”
Prize: $400, Sponsored by College of Graduate Study and Research

2nd Place Winner
Researchers: Rahat Yasir
Title: “A Skin Disease Detection System for Financially Unstable People in Developing Countries.”
Prize: $300, Sponsored by the Department of Computer Science

3rd Place Winner
Researchers: Conor Lazarou, Tony Kusalik, Mike Horsch
Title:  “Overcoming the Curse of Dimensionality in Soil Microbiome Modelling Using Fuzzy Logic and Bayesian Soft-Cluster Assignment.”
Prize: $200, Sponsored by the Department of Computer Science

People’s Choice Award
Researchers: Marina Schmidt, Ray Spiteri
Title: “Designing error control circuits for 4-qubit quantum computing.”
Prize: Sponsored by the Department of Computer Science, $100
