Illuminant Determination and Its Application, M.Sc. April, 2000. Since May, 2000, Yufei is working with BMC in California. In late 2000, he joins Shutterfly in San Francisco.

David Harrington

Physically Based Fog and Cloud Modeling for Computer Graphics, M.Sc. Spring, 2000. Since May, 2000, David is working with Motorola in Chicago.
Byron Bashforth Physics-Based Explosion Modelling for Computer Graphics, M.Sc., December, 1998. Since June 1999, Byron is working with Pixar as a Technical Director at Pixar in California.


Bernie Genswein

Recognition of Complex two-dimensional shapes using geometric primitives and the Hough transform, M.Sc., February, 1998. Since January, 1998, Bernie is with JRC Canada, Inc. in Lethbridge. JRC manufactures wireless communication equipment.


Tanya Grigorishin

Image Segmentation, Form Segmentation, Image Skeletonization: A Unified Electrostatic Field Theory-Based Approach, M.Sc., July, 1997. Since October 1997, she has been with Hampson Russell in Calgary. Hampson Russell is a company specializing in seismic data analysis.

Li Zhao

A Study of Occlusion, Multi-Scale Methods and Illumination Effects in PCA-Based Vision Systems, M.Sc. 1997. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Dept. of Cognitive Sciences at the University of California, Irvine, CA.


Russ Muzzolini

A Volumetric Approach to Segmentation and Texture Characterisation of Ultrasound Images, M.Sc., 1991, Ph.D., Fall 1996. Since November 1996, Russ is with Alias|Wavefront. In 2000, he joins Shutterfly in San Francisco. His work is in the area of pattern recognition and computer graphics.


David Mould

Water Modeling for Computer Graphics, M.Sc., 1996. David is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Toronto.


Nan Weng

Recovery of Three Dimensional Models from Sequences of Ultrasound Images, M. Sc., April 1996. Nancy, as she is commonly called, worked for Agriculture Canada from May to September, 1996. Since September 1996, Nancy is with Mitra, a medical imaging company in Waterloo, Canada.

Sanjay Bakshi

Shape from Shading from Non-Lambertian Surfaces, M.Sc., 1994. Sanjay is a senior software developer at Alias|Wavefront. His work is in the area of computer graphics and animator. Since September 21, 1996, he has become a happily married man. Congratulations!

Zhanhong Wu

An Experimental Investigation in the Use of Robust Statistics in Edge Detection, M.Sc., 1993. Jackie, as she is commonly known in the Department, was a senior software engineer at NetManage from 1993-1996. In September, 1996, she has become a proud mother of a lovely baby girl. Since November, 1996, she is with Infoseek as a senior software engineer. Her work is in network software development.

Jianqing Liu

Multiresolution Colour Image Segmentation, M.Sc., 1993. Jennifer, as she is commonly known in the Department, was with Maxsoft-Ocron in Fremont, CA. in the area of character recognition. Since September 1996, she is with Cornerstone Imaging in San Jose, CA as a senior software engineer.

Maylor Leung

First Sight: Towards a System in Human Body Motion Recognition and Understanding, Ph.D. 1992 (M.Sc. 1985). Maylor is a lecturer in the Division of Computer Technology at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. His recent research interest includes character recognition and human motion analysis.

Omar Vega

Default Shape Theory: With Applications to the Recovery of Shape and Light Source from Shading, M.Sc., 1991. Omar is working with Plataforma S.A., a networking company, in Chile.

Glen Chen

Edge Detection by Regularized Cubic B-Spline Fitting, M.Sc., 1991. Glen is a successful entrepreneur, the general manager, and owner of Infowave Computer Inc. in Vancouver, B.C.

Warren Long

Log-tracker: An Integrated Approach to Human Body Motion Analysis, M.Sc., 1988. Warren is a software specialist in SED Systems in Saskatoon.

Doug Brockelbank

Computational Colour Stereopsis, M.Sc., 1988. Doug worked with the Alberta Research Council from 1989 till 1992. From 1992-1996, he was with Merak in Calgary. Since September, 1996, he is in China with his wife and two children.

Shape Analysis Via Orthogonal Polynomials, M.Sc., 1987. Jason is working with IBM Canada.

Ron Koenderink

An Extension of the Rule-based Approach to Protocol Synthesis, M.Sc., 1985. Ron is working with International Road Dynamics in Saskatoon. Before that, he was with Develcon Electronics , also in Saskatoon.
