Experimental Laboratory for Internet Systems and Applications (ELISA)

The ELISA laboratory is a CFI supported facility that will facilitate research on Internet systems and applications, including the following:

• network traffic management
• workload characterization
• web server architecture
• video streaming
• multicast video
• multimedia server design
• mobile computing
• wireless networking
• internet protocol performance

ELISA will be jointly located and operated by the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Calgary. The primary role of the laboratory will be as an experimental "Internet in a room" environment at each site, which will be used as a test-bed for current and new research of facutly members from DISCUS and the U of C. The U of S portion of ELISA will be located a newly renovated space in the Thorvaldson building.
