Transportation

The DCFS conference will be held at the University of Saskatchewan, which is located in the city of Saskatoon and the province of Saskatchewan, Canada.

Transportation to and from Saskatoon

The Saskatoon airport is called the Saskatoon John G. Diefenbaker International Airport.
Direct flight are available to and from Toronto Pearson Airport, and Winnipeg, MB (the location of CIAA) through Air Canada. Most flights from Europe will arrive via Toronto.

Ground transportation to Winnipeg

For those attending CIAA in Winnipeg after DCFS, Winnipeg is 830KM from Saskatoon. It can be reached by flight, car, bus or train.

Transportation within Saskatoon

Taxi

Taxis (Blueline Taxi 653-3333, United Cabs 652-2222)

Taxi from the Airport to either the student residences, Parktown Hotel or the Delta Bessborough will be approximately between $20 and $25 dollars. Taxis are usually waiting and lined up directly outside the airport.

If you are staying at the Parktown Hotel, there is a shuttle between the airport and the hotel. However, it does not operate on Saturday and Sunday, and so likely it will only apply when leaving the hotel to the airport. You can ask about it at the front desk of the hotel.

Bus

Bus - Saskatoon Transit operates within the city at a cost of $2.75 per trip. Exact change is required.

To get to the Parktown Hotel or the Bessborough Hotel from the airport:
For Busing from the Airport to Downtown take Bus 11, available outside the airport terminal. Get on at the Airport (Stop A) and off at the Downtown Terminal on 23rd Street (Stop F). Times and map are provided here (follow the directions for southbound). From the Downtown terminal, it is an approximately 6 minute walk to the Bessborough, or a 10 minute walk to the Parktown Hotel. All three are placed on this map.

Upon departure, the same route can be taken in reverse.


To get to the University from the Airport:
If you are going directly to the University, two buses are required. Ask the driver for a "transfer" upon boarding and paying at the airport. Then on the second bus, show the transfer to the driver and do not pay again. The first bus is from the Aiport to Downtown on Bus 11, available outside the airport terminal. Get on at the Airport (Stop A) and off at the Downtown Terminal on 23rd Street (Stop F). Times and map are provided here (follow the directions for southbound).

Then, from the Downtown Terminal to the University, take Bus 3 eastbound for a short ride. From the Downtown Terminal (Stop F), get off at the University Terminal (Stop G). Times are provided here. In addition, any of the buses numbered 50, 60, 70, and 80 can be taken between the Downtown and the University terminals.

Upon departure, the same route can be taken in reverse.



Conference Location

The DCFS conference and sessions will be held at the University of Saskatchewan. The conference sessions will be held in the Geology Building, room 155.
