New faculty welcome: Dr. Roy Lee

The Department of Computer Science welcomes new faculty member Roy Lee.

Roy joins us as an Assistant Professor at the University of Saskatchewan this year. Prior to joining the university, he worked as a Research Fellow at Living Analytics Research Centre (LARC, Singapore) and an Adjunct Faculty at School of Information Systems, Singapore Management University (SMU), teaching the undergraduate course IS424: Data Mining and Business Analytics.

His research journey began at Singapore Management University, where he obtained the full suite of qualifications; Bachelor, Masters, and Ph.D. Degree in Information Sytems, on fully-funded scholarships from the university. During his Ph.D. studies, he was also fortunate to be advised by Professor Lim Ee-Peng. His research lies in the intersection of data mining, machine learning, and social computing. In particular, he is interested in studying user behaviors across multiple social networks and building explainable social recommender systems for online social platforms.
